HTC Desire 816, 820, 826 start receiving Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update.


HTC has reportedly started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to its Desire EYE devices in Europe and the UAE. The firmware update comes with Sense 7.0.
As you can see from this image, the download is light enough to cause such a big change in one of the most special ever presented by the Taiwanese smartphone and remember it was also the first selfie-phone marketed worldwide.

HTC has reportedly started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to its Desire EYE devices in Europe and the UAE. The firmware update comes with Sense 7.0. A reader of Phone Arena has reportedly confirmed the roll out of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to HTC Desire EYE by sending the screenshot of the update received in the UAE. HTC Blog Italia also reported that the device has received the firmware weighing 1.6GB.

HTC Desire EYE, which was released in 2014, initially ran on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sense UI 6.0 before being upgraded to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It sports a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, come packed with a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB) and 2GB RAM, house a 13MP rear and front camera, and has a non-removable Li-Po 2,400mAh battery.

The Taiwanese technology giant had earlier listed its devices that are eligible to receive the firmware. It is not known when mobile handsets like HTC M9+, HTC One E9, HTC ME, HTC One E8, HTC M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816 will taste Marshmallow.
