Today, Huawei announced the Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 during their show in Munich, Germany. Phones don't walk out as much as the Pixel 4 in leak market, but we knew a lot about them before launch. The Mate 30 series focuses on photography and comes with the Kirin 990 chip, the first SoC with an integrated 5G modem. These are also the first Huawei devices released without Google apps, which may make it difficult to sell them outside of China.

Like most modern smartphones these days, the Mate 30 Pro comes with a glass front and back panels, with a 6.53-inch screen curved 88 degrees to the sides. The camera with the back of the camera is very similar to the old Nokia Lumia phones or the new Nokia 7.2. Except for the medium size, the curved screen is practically not blocked by any frames, and the chin has a smaller chin than most other Android devices.

The Kirin 990 SoC with an integrated 5G modem will provide the Mate 30 Pro with a longer battery life than most other modern 5G phones that require additional circuits to achieve the new transmission standard. It is combined with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory. Despite the lack of Google apps, Android 10 is still pretty recognizable. Huawei offers a system-wide dark mode that can reverse applications that it does not initially support, and offers a new customizable interface that always appears on the screen. The Mate 30 Pro clearly focuses on photography.

Three cameras are located at the back: the main 40-megapixel f / 1.8 camera, an ultra-wide 16-megapixel f / 2.2 camera, and an 8-megapixel 80 mm f / 2.4 OIS lens for a laser-focus camera. Despite the lack of a special camera for enlarging the periscope, the company claims that its software expands the capabilities of the digital 3x telephoto lens, making it comparable or superior to the flagship in this regard. Optical and digital image stabilization certainly helps with this.

With three lenses focused on photography, another 40-megapixel camera is designed to capture video. It supports 4K recording at 60 frames per second and provides video recording in low light conditions at ISO 51200. When 60 frames per second is not enough, it also provides ultra-slow motion at 720p and 7680 frames per second (yes, you read, that frames per second is correct). It is assumed that the real-time bokeh mode creates the illusion of a shallow depth of field, but it is doubtful how well it will work.

The front camera is paired with several other sensors that have different tricks in their sleeves. They can recognize gestures and watch your eyes intelligently rotate the screen, but most importantly, this is a secure mechanism for logging into your system using Apple Face ID. Huawei also added a fingerprint scanner to the screen to provide redundancy.

The 30 Pro has a 4,500 mAh battery that can charge up to 40 watts wirelessly and up to 27 watts wirelessly. Like the Samsung Galaxy Note10, the Mate 30 Pro also supports wireless charging. Another feature is the lack of a physical volume regulator on the device. Instead, it uses a touchpad, so you can slide along the side to adjust the volume, or touch the frame to activate the shutter in the camera app.

The Mate 30 Pro costs 1,100 euros, with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage at this price. The 5G version costs 100 euros more, but costs 1,200 euros with the same specifications.

The two phones announced today are almost the same, but distinguishable. The Mate 30 does not have a curved screen, but uses a regular flat screen and has a small indentation without sensors that support gestures. The screen is 6.62 inches larger than his brother. Although it retains the same Kirin 990 chip, it loses 5G capabilities and only has a 4200 mAh battery. It also does not have a video camera, although it does contain the same set of lenses focused on photography.

Today, an optional version of the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS is also offered, which has 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of memory and a unique rear panel design. The regular Mate 30 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory is available for 800 euros, and the Porsche Design version for 2100 euros.

Google Programs
Because the devices do not have Google applications, they also cannot use the Google Play services, which allow applications to access certain system APIs, map data, and push notifications. To solve this problem, Huawei has released its own HMS Core package, which reflects the functionality of Play Services. The company submits more than 45,000 applications
