How To activate Live Caption on Google Pixel 2XL

Google's Live Caption feature is an easy accessibility tool that AI uses to translate audio from any media source that plays into sharp, precise subtitles on your smartphone. Until now it was limited to Pixel 4 and 4 XL devices, unless you wanted to root your phone. But a recent post on Reddit suggests that the feature can also be added manually to the Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL.

It didn't end with an OTA or feature drop or whatever. Instead, you will need to download the Device Personalization Services APK to get live captions on your Pixel 2. Once installed, you can enable it by going to Device> Accessibility. Here you will find the live subtitled setting under the Audio and Text section on the screen.
